Mimi Nguyen is one of the many women of Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander heritage that have been honored at the annual Women of Color in STEM Conference.
Mimi received a Special Recognition award at the Leaders and Legends event held during the 23rd Annual Women of Color STEM Conference. The awards recognize managerial leadership, innovation, and technical contributions that improve access to STEM jobs and demonstrate excellence in the workplace and community.
Mimi is a team leader in Jeep Powertrain Planning at FCA US LLC and has over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry. In her role as powertrain planning manager, Mimi and her team analyzed powertrain trends and collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop powertrain market requirements for all new and renewal FCA vehicles.
As the powertrain planning lead in FCA's Propulsion Strategy and Planning, Engine, Transmission, and Electrified Structures group, she is responsible for developing strategic targets and processes and recommending powertrain lineups for FCA vehicles.
Amy Nguyen (no relation) is a computer scientist at the Army Reprogramming Analysis Team Program Office. She received the Women of Color Outstanding Technical Contribution Award at the 2016 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) conference.
She was recognized for managing a project assigned to the Software Engineering Center, Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors Directorate. Amy was proud to be among the group of motivated and intelligent women striving to make a difference in society at the STEM event.
Through new technical documentation, she streamlined and formalized software and firmware processes. The Reprogramming Analysis Team is responsible for rapidly responding to the operational environment's changes, evolution, and complexity to take care of soldiers.
