Raquel Cundiff, born in the Philippines as the youngest of seven children, moved to Missouri with her family after her father's retirement from professional basketball. She became an American citizen in 1975.
Raquel is a dedicated advocate for women in STEM and regularly mentors college students through the Women in Science & Engineering (WiSE) program. Her selfless dedication to the community and early-career professionals at Boeing earned her a nomination for the 2016 Women of Color Community Service Award.
Through her inspiration and encouragement, Raquel has helped countless girls and women explore careers in science and engineering. As a manager, she applies her tutoring and mentoring skills to her team at Boeing.
Raquel excelled in math throughout high school and college, and she enjoyed helping other students who struggled with it. She attended St. Louis Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in core engineering and was also a member of the softball, volleyball, and basketball teams.
Raquel continued her education at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where she earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and played varsity softball.
Raquel joined Boeing as a stress engineer, where she attended professional presentations. She has progressively advanced over the last two decades, currently serving as an integration leader for customer engineering.
Raquel is an advocate and mentor for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Boeing, actively participating in the Summer Intern Program and Engineering Accelerated Hiring Initiative Program as an instructor and mentor. She has also led the professional development section of the Boeing Women in Leadership program and organized conference workshops and events to support mentoring and student development.
