Baltimore- Feb.14, 2022- Career Communications Group (CCG) launched Stem City USA in 2021. This platform is designed to bring the resources needed for career success to young people as well as connect professionals in STEM careers. The virtual community environment aims to close the digital divide and provide K-12 students with access to benefit from online learning opportunities.
CCG is proud to host the National Naval Officers Association’s (NNOA) Black History Month celebration in STEM City USA. Join us as we celebrate the advancement of Black people in the U.S. military from segregation to the Vietnam War.
Moderated by NNOA historian, Capt. Rick Wright, USN (Ret.), Senior Historian & Command Curator at Air Force Global Strike Command, Dr. Isaac Hampton II, will discuss his book, “The Black Officer Corps.”
This event is part of CCG’s ongoing effort to bring people into the metaverse, a combination of multiple elements of technology, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and video where users "live" within a digital universe.
“We are eager to celebrate the accomplishments of Black people in our military and excited to team up with the NNOA for this event,” Dr. Tyrone Taborn, CEO of Career Communications Group, said. “CCG is honored to welcome Dr. Hampton to our platform.”
STEM City is a platform that helps promote the growth and flourishment of underrepresented communities by providing opportunities to network and receive information which is essential to the advancement of minorities in our society. This platform will serve as a medium to provide healthy living tips and advice to attendees during our events on the platform and beyond.
The NNOA Black History Month Celebration will take place Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
