The Women of Color STEM - Technical Innovation in Industry Award for 2023 has been won by General Motors staff researcher, Dr. Rashmi Prasad, according to Career Communications Group.

The award ceremony will take place at the 2023 Women of Color STEM DTX Conference in Detroit, MI, on October 14, 2023.

Dr. Prasad has over 12 years of experience in research and product development of electrified propulsion systems.

She has contributed significantly to the progress of vehicle electrification technologies, resulting in over 65 patents and publications in the automotive industry.

In recognition of her exceptional work, Dr. Prasad has received several prestigious awards, including the Boss Kettering Award in 2021, which acknowledges her outstanding innovation that generated significant cost savings for General Motors.

Dr. Prasad is also known for her advocacy of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, actively working to eliminate gender bias and empower women and girls in STEM fields.

In addition, she participates in non-profit STEM activities and mentors young girls, channeling her passion for science and technology to inspire the next generation.
