Yagna Pathak is a neuroscientist in Abbott's neuromodulation division. She has an extensive portfolio of work, including over 40 co-authored papers and abstracts, with 35 patents filed.

Yagna led the research and development of Abbott's neurosphere virtual clinic, an innovative application in the United States that has improved the lives of over 17,000 people suffering from chronic pain and movement disorders.

This application enables patients to communicate with their doctor remotely and receive therapy. It unlocked essential access to healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to connect patients to treatment.

Today, Yagna's work exemplifies her passion for improving access to healthcare for underserved communities. She also mentors women and minorities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

"I am honored to receive the award for outstanding technical contribution," Yagna said during her acceptance speech at the WOC STEM Gala in Detroit. "As part of the neuro-modulation team at Abbott, I contributed to the development of the innovative neurosphere virtual clinic platform. This care technology enables patients to access life-changing neuromodulation therapy remotely, improving their access to care. The technological achievement required diversity of thought and a creative vision for care, and I'm proud of how the team brought this innovation to life. I'm also grateful to my family, my friends, and my mentors, who continuously inspire me to be bold and go valiantly toward my goals."
