Cora Buckner, a senior manager for global university relations and interns programs manager at Abbott, attended the Women of Color STEM Conference where she found a panel discussion on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the metaverse to be very insightful.

Rebecca Wilkins, a divisional vice president for research and development in Abbott's neuromodulation business unit, spoke at the 2023 Women of Color in STEM Conference panel and expressed her honor to do so.

She discussed how AI, augmented reality, and blockchain technologies are revolutionizing healthcare and increasing access to care.

Rebecca leads a global team of technologists who are developing innovative treatments for neuropathic conditions such as chronic pain and motion disorders like Parkinson's disease.

The panel also included Diya Wynn, a principal at Amazon and an advocate for AI ethics, and Brandon Ha, a senior manager and technology innovation lead at Pepsico, who drives emerging technology adoption through technology research, experimentation platform capability, and user experience to launch initiatives to accelerate the company's digital transformation.

The discussion was part of the Leaders and Legends talk show hosted by Dr. Pamela McCauley, who was named the 2019 Technologist of the Year. Dr. McCauley is an engineer, entrepreneur, educator, and celebrated motivational speaker.
