Katy Wong won the Corporate Promotion of Education Award at the 2016 Women of Color STEM Conference.
While executing multi-million projects, capturing contracts, and leading proposals at Lockheed Martin, Katy showed the same commitment to talent development.
She is involved in many technical associations and is a mentor for her teammates.
Since 2005, Katy has been a member of the Lockheed Martin University Recruiting team and served on the board of the Los Angeles chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
INCOSE is designed to connect systems engineering professionals with educational, networking, and career advancement opportunities.
Katy was a founding member of the Antelope Valley section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and later served as a student counselor at her alma mater Harvey Mudd College.
She was also selected to serve on the Board of Trustees and is a staunch supporter of the Harvey Mudd College (HMC) clinic program.
In the HMC clinic, she worked with Lockheed Martin management to promote opportunities for technical advancement.
In 2014, Katy received a Milestone Award from Harvey Mudd in recognition of the thirty-fifth clinic that Lockheed Martin sponsored as part of the HMC Clinic Program.
After joining Lockheed Martin, Katy earned a master's in systems architecture and engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) as a full-time employee in the Engineer Leadership Development Program.
At USC, she frequently represented Lockheed Martin in engineering diversity industry advisory board meetings.
She also supported engineering and diversity events through the university recruiting program.
Other Lockheed Martin-supported activities that Katy has participated in include providing travel scholarships for girls to attend the American Association of University Women of California’s Tech Trek project, and the Engaging, Enriching & Inspiring Engineers Through Education, Development & Outreach in the Antelope Valley area.
